Brian's Home Improvement Tips #1

We wanted to make the area around our heat pumps look a little nicer. So for under $40.00 we were able to make it look a little cleaner around the two heat pumps.

The area was sprayed with round-up a few weeks prior to the project so we didn't have any grass to remove first, but if you have grass there you should remove that first. The next thing that we did was dig the ground enough to place the bricks so that they wouldn't move. We actually ended up with about 3/4 of each brick buried, which should keep them from moving while still above ground enough to keep the pebbles in the area. After filling the dirt in around the bricks and making sure everything looked pretty good, we then filled the space with decorative pea pebbles. We used that kind of rock because it matched the aggregate sidewalks, but I imagine any kind would work. After smoothing the rocks we were finished. This was a cheap project that helped make things look a little nicer.

My project required 45 landscaping bricks that I bought at the Home Depot for .28 each. I used a total of six bags of pebbles, each bag of decorative pea pebbles covered .5 cubic feet and was $3.89 each.

Total Cost
Bricks $12.60
Pebbles $23.34

I saw that. I saw them open up for the goo goo dolls back in 2001 or 2002 in VA Beach. I don't know if I'm gonna go to the show in October.
